We had a fantastic time running our Think Like a Programmer Workshop for Year 12 Access Leicester: STEM students at the University of Leicester. Throughout the day, the students learnt how to approach two game development projects – one using #MakeCode, a visual programming language, and then progressing onto using #GamemakerStudio with real code. 🕹️

The students learnt about programming logic and how code works throughout the session. They also had the opportunity to develop bug-fixing and problem-solving skills, were able to be creative by working on their own graphics and animations, and even had the chance to learn how to use advanced techniques, such as implementing particle effects.

We had a great day, and inspired students asked us some really smart questions about careers in the games industry too. 🎮
