We’re delighted to share the latest developments in our continued partnership with Ultimate Activity Camps and their incredible Ultimate Tech Camp programme. Building on the success of previous years, our team at Chaos Created, through our Code Created initiative, has been working to enhance and expand the camp experience, introducing groundbreaking new content and innovative learning approaches that promise to inspire the next generation of young technologists.
Ultimate Tech Camps continue to offer an exhilarating four-day tech experience for children aged 8-14, where they can dive deep into the world of technology and game-making. The camp provides hands-on projects that span arcade game creation, BBC micro:bit programming, machine learning exploration, and cutting-edge robotics, including new TPBot projects. It’s an opportunity for young minds to explore technological possibilities, create amazing projects, and share their games and websites with friends and family. With expert instructors guiding them every step of the way, children embark on a fun and creative journey into the future of technology and game development.
2025 promises to be another year of remarkable growth and innovation as Ultimate Tech Camps continue to evolve and reach even more aspiring young creators across the UK.
Revolutionary New Content and Advanced Learning Pathways
This year marks a significant milestone in the evolution of Ultimate Tech Camp with the introduction of several game-changing elements. Most exciting is the brand-new TPBot robotics projects we’ve created, which bring physical computing and robotics into the mix alongside our established arcade game development. This addition creates a perfect blend of digital and physical technology experiences, allowing children to see their code come to life in the real world.
We’ve also launched a third pack of Extended Activities, featuring four advanced projects designed to push children’s MakeCode Arcade skills to new heights. The Multiplayer Ski Run challenges students to build a split-screen competitive skiing game complete with obstacles and collectables, teaching advanced graphics techniques and simultaneous gameplay mechanics. The Multiplayer Tag Game utilises timer-based chase mechanics on tile maps, emphasising player interaction and effective game state management. Paint the Room creates an engaging territory-control experience where players compete to paint the most tiles their colour, emphasising strategic gameplay and area coverage algorithms. Finally, Flapping Bird offers a creative take on the classic obstacle avoidance genre with custom animations and single-player challenge progression.
Introducing Intermediate Challenges: Independent Learning Excellence
Perhaps our most innovative addition for 2025 is the introduction of Intermediate Challenges – a completely new approach to advanced learning within the camp structure. These self-directed extension activities are designed for children who have demonstrated strong proficiency with the main course content and are ready for advanced, independent programming projects. Unlike our traditional step-by-step guided activities, these challenges provide only framework code, key concepts, and objectives, requiring students to problem-solve independently and think like real developers.
Each Intermediate Challenge includes an introductory video accessible via QR code and a worksheet with starter blocks and strategic hints rather than complete solutions. This approach encourages critical thinking, creativity, and the kind of independent problem-solving skills that are essential in real-world programming and technology careers.
Enhanced Training and Support
Our commitment to supporting Ultimate Activity Camps’ fantastic delivery team remains stronger than ever. This year’s live virtual training sessions were a tremendous success, generating incredible engagement from instructors with loads of great questions and comments about both course content and delivery techniques. Our live training has been invaluable, allowing for real-time interaction and collaborative learning that benefits everyone involved.
We’ve also expanded our comprehensive training resources, providing on-demand video training organised by individual projects, making it easier than ever for instructors to prepare for and deliver outstanding camp experiences.
Our partnership with Ultimate Activity Camps is all about inspiring a love for technology and creativity in the next generation. From creating engaging resources and supporting camp rollouts to training delivery teams and developing fun new content, we’re committed to ensuring every child who participates in Ultimate Tech Camp has an unforgettable and inspiring experience.
